HE IS ALIVE IN YOU

Devotion of the Day

(Galatians 2:20)

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Did you know that Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God is alive in you? In Galatians 2:20, Paul makes this more clearer as he boldly declares that when Christ was crucified at the Cross, he was crucified with Him. Certainly there was no other reason for Christ to die at that Cross other than for you. Jesus Christ was but just the perfect Bridge that perfectly reconciled us to the Father in heaven. He was crucified and died as a penalty for the sin of the whole world. In other words, He was your Advocate. We all know that advocates are lawyers who stand on behalf of the accused. If the advocate fails to provide enough evidence for the acquittal of the accused, it is the accused who will receive the jail sentence and not the advocate. While Jesus Christ became both the advocate and the accused on our behalf. When Jesus Christ was at that Cross, it was you and I who hung at that Cross. When He suffered death, it was you and I who died because Christ did it for us. When God raised Him, it was you and myself who were raised from the dead. His suffering and death at the Cross, His burial in the tomb and His resurrection from the dead was the process through which God made us a new creation in Jesus Christ. This is why Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” It is sad that many children of God have not grasped the new creation concept as they continue to hold on to their old nature and this is the reason why so many Christians continue to suffer so much. As children of God we ought to walk as Christ walked, talk as He talked and pray as He prayed.  Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” The Word of God is the daily meal for your spirit as the LORD in Matthew 4:4 reminds us that, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. From today, if it had not yet been revealed to you, you must know that as long as you are obedient to what the Word of God says about you, every step that you take, it is the step of Christ.  Every action that you make, let it be the action of Christ and every word that you release through your mouth, let it be the Word of Christ. Once you do that, you are really going to have a lasting effect on your world in God’s favor. Alleluia!

Prayer

Dear LORD Jesus Christ, I thank You for Your Spirit that is alive in me and for Your blood that keeps my spirit and my body living for You. I believe that Your Word is the one that gives life to all and without it there is no existence. Make my spirit never to leave Your life giving Word. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
