Children of God are recognized by being joyful and prayerful always. All things work together for your good and therefore you can never be disadvantaged or discouraged. Your joy comes from your commitment to the Word of God and acting upon whatever the Word says to you. For you to be joyful always, you must have the fullness of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, Love, Joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self-control; against such there is no law.” Without the fullness of the fruit of the Spirit, you cannot have joy at all and it will also not be possible for you to be prayerful. Prayer is your response to the Word of God. In fact when you pray, you are not begging from God, but you are agreeing with His Word which is given to address your every situation. The Word of God nourishes your soul and once your soul is nourished, you have the strength to always look up to God who always fills you with His Spirit. It is the Spirit of God who brings joy into your soul even in hard times. Paul in Ephesians 5:18-21 says, “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the LORD, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in fear of God.” You must know that joy is different from happiness. Some drink alcohol in order to be happy and once they are sober, the happiness goes away. Happiness does not at all lead to joy because it is temporary and it is a product of material things. Joy only comes from God and it is permanent and brings peace and hope into your life. Joy is one of the favors from God. Today I therefore encourage you to meditate upon the Word of God day and night and observe to do according to all it says as this is your source of joy. Alleluia!

Prayer

Help me Father to be joyful and cheerful always as that is what Your Word wants of me and it is the only way I can attain positive results which are pleasing to You. I thank You Father, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
