GOD WILL MAKE A WAY

Devotion of the Day

(Joshua 2:4-5)

Then the woman took the two men and hid them. So she said, β€˜Yes the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from. And it happened as the gate was being shut, when it was dark that the men went out. Where the men went I do not know; pursue them quickly, for you may overtake them.”

You may be going through a difficult time and your situation might appear to be impossible. All I ask you to do is never to give up, but to put all your trust in God just like what Jesus Christ did when He was hanging from the Cross. Make the LORD Jesus Christ your only Shepherd. Isaiah 43:19 says, “Behold, l will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” God will make a way where there might seem to be no way for those who fully trust in Him.  The impossible becomes possible with God. This is what He did for the two men who had been sent by Joshua to spy the city of Jericho. It was in the house of a harlot that God provided Israel with information for them to overthrow the fortified city of Jericho. It was the harlot who provided protection for the two Israelite spies when she hid them in the roof of her house when the king of Jericho sent soldiers to search for them. God provided a way for them out of Jericho over the high wall. God provided the Israelites with the way to overthrow Jericho through a most insignificant woman, a harlot for that matter. When Rahab discovered the God of Israel through these two men, she did not remain a harlot, but instead she immediately repented and believed in the God of Israel. While God used her as the way for the Israelites to overthrow Jericho, the two Israelite spies were also a way from God for Rahab’s salvation and also for the salvation of her father’s house. David the king of Israel always put his trust in God. He was able to protect his father’s flock from the lion and from the bear. Even his encounter with the giant Goliath of Gath, he declared his trust in God that he was going to defeat him before the fight. 1 Samuel 17:45 David says, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but l come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel who you have defied.”  You may have suffered from a serious sickness or affliction or any other problem for a very long time, let me tell you, only put your trust in God and He will certainly make a way for you to come out of that crisis.   Alleluia!

Prayer
