GOD WILL BE WITH YOU IN DIFFICULT TIMES

Devotion of the Day

(Genesis 26:12-14)

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants.

If you trust in God through His Word, He will certainly be with you during the time of pandemics, draught or difficult times. Isaac trusted in God during the time when there was famine in the land and God prospered him and gave him success. Genesis 26:2-5 says, “Then the LORD appeared to him and said: “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I shall tell you. Dwell in this land, and I will bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.” Isaac obeyed God’s commandment and remained in Gerar. “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants.” During this year, you must never allow your circumstances or situation to dictate the direction of your faith. It is a fact that there are many challenges all over and the world is witnessing  times of wars, floods, fires, hardship sufferings and economic challenges. As a child of God and a seed of Abraham, just like Isaac, it is time to listen to God. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For l know the plans l have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Just as He prospered Isaac and gave him success upon success, He is also able to do the same for you. All you need to do is to spend more and more time listening to His voice and all will be well with you. Alleluia!

Prayer

Thank You Heavenly Father for Your promise that You will always be with me during difficult and trying times. May You therefore increase my faith in You and give me the grace to continue holding onto Your promises. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
