THE FATHER’S PROMISE STILL LIVES ON

Devotion of the Day

Jeremiah 29:11

For l know the thoughts I think towards you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Additional Verses
đź“– Psalm 23:1-6; Isaiah 43:1-13; John 14:1-31

The Father has promised you a wonderful life; His thoughts towards you are not to harm you, but are of a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11). God did not bring you to this earth to let you suffer, but He brought you here for a special purpose and He promised to be with you while you are on this earth. He has promised in His Word that He will never leave you nor forsake you. All you have to do is to believe in His promises. When God promises, His Word comes to pass. He is not like men who are subject to change. This is why you need to carefully pay attention to God’s promises and value them so much. In Isaiah 43, God assures you that He knows you by name. He created you and formed you and you belong to Him. Such a declaration should fill your heart with excitement knowing that you belong to the Father and He has loved you with an everlasting love. Isaiah 43:2-3 says, “When you pass through the waters, l will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, the flame will not set you ablaze.” He will be by your side and therefore there is no need to fret. This promise is real and it is up to you to believe it. At times when you go through trying times, you are likely to question if God’s promises will not expire. During the trying times you will not walk alone; God will be with you. He will not let you out of His sight because you are the apple of His eye. John 14:13-16 says, “And l will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask for anything in my name, and l will do it. If you love me, you will obey what l command. And l will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you for ever – the Spirit of truth.” And the Holy Spirit was poured on the Day of Pentecost and is with us always provided you believe and obey what the Word of God says. The Father will not abandon His children and you are one of His beloved children, therefore you walk with Him every day through studying and meditating upon His Word and you will see that His promises are forever. Alleluia!

Prayer

Thank You Father for continuing to assure me that You will never leave nor forsake me as all you want is the best for me. Help me to continue holding onto this promise which You have made to me so that I may continue to be the apple of Your eye. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
