Laziness is one of the characteristics of the Devil. Stealing, killing and destruction are all a product of laziness. A lazy mind is a very fertile breeding ground of all forms of evil. The LORD Jesus Christ, our role model, all His days on earth, He was always at work. In His home town, before His ministry started, He was a famous carpenter. Mark 6:3 is a quotation from those who had known Him from childhood who said, “Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon?...” In John Chapter 5:17 Jesus Christ declares, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” If that Spirit Who was at work in Jesus Christ is in you, there can never be any room for laziness in your soul. The Holy Spirit Who makes you a new creation in Christ Jesus is active and vibrant all the time. He would like to create new things to your advantage all the time. But in order for Him to do this, you must have that mind that was in Jesus Christ of being a servant all the time. It is by being a servant in this world that you will be able to live as a king. Luke 21:37 says this of Jesus, “And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple, but at night He went out and stayed on the mountain called Olivet.” Follow the example of the LORD Jesus Christ and I tell you, your life will be a manifestation of God’s glory all your days. Alleluia!

Prayer

Dear LORD Jesus, thank You for letting me know that laziness is a spirit which must not be found in me. Help me to overcome any laziness that I may have in me. I want to be an energetic Christian who is always willing to work without complaining or supervision. In Jesus Christ’s name l pray. Amen.
