NO ROOM FOR COMPLAINTS

Devotion of the Day

β€œMy brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the LORD, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the LORD – that the LORD is very compassionate and merciful.”

James 5:10-11

Additional Verses
πŸ“– Job 42:10-17; James 5:8-20

The Scripture for today is basically going to lead us into a new revelation of some of the things that we may take for granted. We are facing many challenges in our nation, despite the hardships before us and in our lives, Jesus Christ is there for us if we believe in Him. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and l will give you rest.” What is happening in most Christians is that they are still complaining about many things. The example of Job who suffered many afflictions, but there is nowhere in the Bible where we are told that he complained to God.  Even after his wife told him to curse God and die, he refused and remained faithful to God for whatever he was going through. Today many people whenever they are confronted with problems, instead of taking these as tests, they begin to curse God and they go on to complain a lot and many are filled with the spirit of un-forgiveness. As a child of God you face many persecutions and afflictions but you have to remember one thing, rejoice in all this without grumbling to the LORD. James 1:2-3 says, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations, knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” Again in James Chapter 5, he teaches about being patient and not complain. So when you asking God for more blessings, finances, good jobs good health etc, you have to be patient and not grumble, for God will certainly bless you at the appointed time. The Word of God in Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love the God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” You are urged also to follow the example of Job who persevered and did not grumble. In the end he overcame all the diseases and challenges that had come upon him and lived a very happy life ever after. If you were one of those who had been grumbling about certain things, this is the day to correct yourself and start to thank the LORD for the many blessings which God has prepared for you. Alleluia!

Prayer

Thank You Father for this day. Father, I confess for the times that I have been grumbling. From today I will thank you for those blessings that you have already bestowed upon me. Thank You for the example of Job. Thank You LORD Jesus even for the patience, I ask that it be increased in me in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
