FAITH THAT RECEIVES NOW

Devotion of the Day

(John 11:21)

Now Martha said to Jesus, β€œLORD, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.”

πŸ“– Psalm 23:1-6; Mark 10:46-52; John 11:17-44

When Martha came to Jesus Christ after her brother Lazarus had been dead four days, she spoke words of faith and this kind of faith is absolute faith. Where there is absolute faith there is no doubt at all. “So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away. And many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. Now Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house. Now Martha said to Jesus, “LORD, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” I would like you to observe that even though Lazarus had been four days in the grave, once Martha heard that Jesus Christ had arrived, she found opportunity to speak out what she believed that even now, whatever Jesus Christ would ask from God, God would grant it to Him. Jesus Christ immediately assured her saying, “Your brother will rise again.” This is also assurance to you concerning your dead and hopeless situation. If you have the now and absolute faith like that expressed by Martha, the LORD Jesus Christ will immediately show up and resurrect your situation. God is the God of the impossible to anyone who believes in His Son Jesus Christ. So what are you waiting for? Begin to open your mouth and ask God in faith just as the Bible in Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Use your mouth to speak life to your situation and I tell you, God will certainly come on the scene and bring change to your situation. Alleluia!

Prayer

Thank You Father for giving me the assurance that just as You responded to Martha and Mary, You are also able to give life to my situation. I therefore ask that through Your mercy and favor, You may locate me in my area of my need. In Jesus Christ mighty name I pray. Amen.
